Happy 40th Scott

Ok, I have posted my nice photo on Facebook in honor of the old mans birthday but on my blog there are no holds barred ;) let the embarrassing photos begin ;).

A nice normal one to begin with, albeit with his slightly longer hair :)
And then he let it get a little longer!!

And he got a little crazy ;)

Yep, here his crazy is starting to show through :)

Phone to the ear is how we will see him coming in from work each day :)

And then a little while later this is the position he will assume :)

This is a look to watch out for, some mischief definitely on its way ;) "what me?????"

Always ready to bring a little nonsense ;)
But all humiliating photos aside.......

We love to be a part of it. He is such a great family man, fantastic dad and such a great supporter to me, encouraging me in everything I do especially my running. Never once a complaint as I head out the door on yet another training run.
Thank you for all you do. We love you. Hope you have a great day
Happy 40 th Scott.

Happy birthday mum.

Happy birthday to my beautiful mum.
Here she is captured on camera by Cade

This next photo shows her holding her first of many grandsons ;). Ok, exaggeration I know, but had to say it given the wonderful news that Kelly is having a boy. Boys rock!!!!!

I like this next one. :)

And this one.

And I'm very partial to this one too :)

Here she is last summer relaxing at the end of the day.

Happy birthday mum. Hope you have a wonderful birthday. We will be there with you in spirit and will for sure be having a cupcake in your honor.

Looking forward to seeing you this summer, and being home at yours for the festive season.

Just finished reading dads blog. Brought back memories of dad coming home, opening his briefcase and macaroon bars being passed out. Every time I return to Scotland I always have to go get myself a macaroon bar :) I remember being excited for dad coming home, but I guess we didn't show it on the outside. Poor dad :( I also remember about that time, mums hugely swollen feet and how I would stick my thumb into the top of her foot at night leaving a huge indent, and when she got up in the morning it would still be there. Poor mum :(

I'm sitting relaxing after my Sunday run. A personal best

10 miles. 1hr 31. I hope to do this for the pear blossom in a couple of weeks but not sure I will achieve it without my dogs to pace me. They are such good company on my runs. Holly is hyper vigilant to the point she would drag me into traffic to get me away from any person or vehicle she considers suspicious. And wee Buster, just happily running along, focussed on me. My miniature poodle loves a run so much that the minute he sees me putting on running gear he is whining and jumping up and down, not letting up until his leash is on!!!
Today's run felt good. The general rule is that when running for over an hour you should take in fuel at about 45 mins. I skipped it today. Have been having some tummy troubles after run when I do eat something. So today tried without it. My last couple of miles my legs felt like they needed something, but now home I feel so much better than I normally do that I think skipping it might be my new thing.
I got hit by a truck today on my run. I've had my fair share of near misses. Usually due to people looking at their phones or texting. Today I was running on the pavement, and saw a guy coming out of a driveway. He had stopped further back on the drive and was lighting a cigarette, so I thought it was safe to keep going. Well I guess he decided to proceed without looking up or looking right. Holly ended up under the truck and I ended up slamming my hand on the hood of the truck and he slammed on his brakes just in time to stop the vehicle as the metal made contact with my thigh. No harm done, so I kept running, but I do wish people would stop multitasking when driving. I'm just out for a run, and want to get home to my kids in one piece please!!!!!

Speaking of kids, did I post these photos already??

My blue eyed boy relaxing after a hard day at school

Wee sickie Braeden last week. Although really sick, and lost 7lbs, he can still smile. He is the best wee patient.

Right, off to clean house. Had a st Patrick's day dinner last night, so now need to clean up the aftermath from it. Then off to try steamed pudding again. Last night I just made a spice one. It was ok. Think today I will do jam sponge and see how it turns out.

Love to all

Blog time. I have been sitting on Braeden watch since he got a vomiting bug Sunday night. And I am pleased to report he is now keeping down ginger ale and toast. And is now watching the Simpsons movie for the second time so I will take the opportunity to write a blog

Not much to report. Basketball season is coming to an end for Braeden, but given last practice is tonight and last game tomorrow I'm thinking season is already over for him. That means flag football season begins for both boys, and I don't need a flyer to tell me this,as I have began to find papers of plays strewn around our home. Coach Scott is getting ready.

I have now struck off race 2 from my year of races. I wasn't able to start in January due to flu and then laryngitis, but got my 5k done February, and now my 5 mile for march is done. Next one is the 10 mile pear blossom, then I may be looking at my first trail run for May. Nice that the better weather is coming in now for running. Looking forward to not having to bundle up so much. And I will be really happy when the mornings get lighter and I can get rid of all my lights that come with us. I have light up dog leashes, light up clip ons for on my running belt, and I turn on the flashlight app on my iPhone :)

A couple of weeks ago we headed up to Scott's uncle Bobby's cabin for the weekend. Here are a few photos from that trip

Here is Cade giving me that "soon to be teenager" look of "mom what are you doing?!?!?"

Braeden still happy to turn for the camera :)

Where does this silliness come from???

Oh that's right, it comes from their crazy dad ;)

As well as being crazy, he does come up with some good ideas. He tied off two pieces of rope from the deck, and all weekend the boys would repel down the small hill from the cabin. It's the simple things that keep them amused, and very successful in wearing them out too ;)

Holly skulking around. She got to chase deer and squirrels throughout the weekend

Isn't she pretty :) We think buster must've found something as he was constantly out of sight while we were up there and hence no photos of him :(

Cade then stole the camera from me

Then he and Braeden plotted to scare me and take a photo of it as they aimed a slingshot at my head. For the first time ever I am beginning to feel outnumbered by the 3 testosterone filled boys I spend my life with :)

And with that said, time to do some women's work ;) I should really get off this couch and go do some laundry and cooking. Looks like wee man is doing better enough that I can stray from his side. Given he is now taking his own temp I think he is starting to feel better.

To end something Braeden said I thought was cute. "My pointer toe is bigger than my big toe"

Love to all

Happy birthday dad

Just a quick posting tonight to mark the 64th birthday of our "old man"

Here he is relaxing in the sun of Idaho last vacation in the states

A close up taken by Cade. I posted another close up Cade took on Facebook. I think he's got quite an eye for a good photo. Here it is. I like this one a lot.

Having a wee read in Seattle

A "not so flattering" photo taken at our house, but it features one of his favourite grand-dogs :)

A wee paddle in the creek at Ashland, obviously watching the mischief Cade and Braeden were probably up to :)

And Lastly, at one of the local wineries we visited last year. We only got 2 done. Many more to visit this summer.

Have a great birthday dad. A wee pressie is on its way but will be a wee bit late.

Lots of love, hugs and kisses
