Ok Gary, I'm on it!!!!! And do you know why I'm being so good at blogging again??? 2 reasons. First........you facetimed !!!!!!! Yay :) second, some of the photos Scott took are so awful I couldn't put them on Facebook ;)

We had a lovely Christmas Day with a nice early start. 530am

Here are the boys rising from their slumber. Don't feel bad for a sleepy looking Cade. He's the one that wakes us all up so early!!!!

Boys were happy with all Santa left

With Braeden being particularly thrilled with his minecraft figures.

Davis and Lincoln were happy with their presents from us. They both got Transformer scooters. As it was raining all day I let them ride them up and down my hallway. At the end of the day as they were leaving I asked Davis what his favourite gift from Santa was. "This scooter" was his reply :)

As we sat down to dinner Bill remarked how lovely the table looked and that Scott should take some photos. And wait til you see the photos Scott took. He definitely fails in the photography department ;)

Karen would hate this photo. I swear she enjoyed her meal but Scott did not capture that did he????

And then this one I'm pretty sure was to let you see the meat he prepared. Again a fail at a good Christmas dinner photo. What am I going to do with that boy!!!!!!!!

He did get a semi decent one of the kids table. My 2 starting with meat only. I did get some potatoes and veg into Cade, but think Braeden may have skipped out on that. I don't think Davis ate much as Braeden confessed to stealing the meat off his plate, and I'm pretty sure that what you see on Lincoln's plate is what he had......that is until dessert came out and he demolished his weight in ice cream, sprinkles and whipped cream ;)

And lastly, me showing what prize I got in my cracker. They were pretty good this year. Reusable shopping bag in a strawberry design, tripod flashlights, metal key rings, drill bits and pens. No jokes, but a trivia challenge and a charade.

By 830 I was beat!!! My bed never felt so good.

Hope everyone is continuing to enjoy the holiday season

Love to all

Gosh, was it really September 15 th since I wrote something on our blog.
I'm doing this especially for Gary, who is showing commitment to chronicling about his family. Surely I can do some chronicling on mine!! Not to mention Gary is no longer face booking and not a facetimer, so I gotta keep in contact with him somehow :)
We have come to the end of another sports season. Cade's final basketball game was tonight. A great win of 27-3.

We will get a break over the Xmas season, then Braeden starts up with basketball. That goes on until almost spring break, then after that its flag football for both boys, summer hols with visit from Granny Jo and Granda Ian then fall football starts. Boy how quickly time flies by now.
For being a girl who had no interests in sports, its amazing how things change. I love all the sports the kids are involved in. I get sad at the end of a season and look forward to the next. I myself have become addicted to running. I hate waking early in the morning, but if I don't get my 5 am run the day just doesn't feel the same. I am definitely not the fastest, but running with a dog each side of me, I am definitely the happiest :)
So, it's almost Christmas. I hope everyone's parcels are arriving. The online and shipping thing always worries me. And how naked under the tree looks with all these parcels going all over the world!!!!

here are some photos to finish out

This is the tree we cut down at a Christmas tree farm and took home

This was us hunting for the tree. Cade was just getting over in sickness and little did we know Braeden was just beginning!!

And if you were coming to mine for Christmas dinner this would be your mood lighting. A deer head of Scott's. :)

I am thinking of you all over this festive season. "Holding your hands in my pocket" as mum had said to me before.
I look forward to us all being together again next Christmas.
I will try and blog again before christmas, but just in case I don't, wishing each one of you in this family spanning the globe, that you have a very Merry Christmas.
Love to all

Ok, looks like I lost the last blog I started so I guess I will start over.
It's now been a week since I made in back from the the international Lymphedema research conference, and what a great conference it was.The science is really starting to catch up in my field so it's very exciting times.

On the Friday night one of the sponsors threw a country western style party.

It was held at Gilleys, made famous as the movie "urban Cowboy" was filmed here.
A wonderful Texas style barbecue was served. Entertainment included a DJ, line dancing lessons, quick fire competition and a mechanical bull. Unfortunately I was at the gift store when they did the line dancing lesson, but I did have a go on the mechanical bull :)
I would've added the video clip of me riding the bull, but I guess I have to sign up for a YouTube account to download my video, and that's an extra step I cant be bothered to take right now. So if you want to see it iMessage me and I will send it to you through that :)

On the Saturday we got finished a little early so we jumped a train to head to a cute little shopping area seen above

But we were pretty exhausted so didn't stay out long and headed back to the hotel to relax. Above is the pool and below the view from the pool deck

I had a great time in Dallas, but am so happy to be back with my wee family.

Hope alls well with everyone

It's been a long time since I've blogged, but of course I have come out of the woodwork to wish Gary a very happy birthday.

- This photo was taken the night before his wedding. Fond memories of a good curry, a few drinks, then up in the morning to discover the kilt and jacket not to fit, requiring a speedy visit to Aberdeen to get it sorted. And it was then I realized my baby brother was all grown up and responsible, as although the driving was fast, it was not crazy or dangerous......Yes he has taken fatherhood to the very core of his being and safety was first :)
Have a great day. Lots of hugs and kisses from the Lesinas and we hope to see you soon

Lots of love

Been awhile but I'm back. Birthday celebrations to report on :)
Thank you to everyone for pressies, money and good wishes.
-

Can you tell he is just coming too in this pic. Didn't take him long though to spring to life.

This is Braeden with his requested birthday breakfast. Chocolate chip pancakes and strawberries.

It was a school day. Being his birthday I got off work a little early so I could pick him up rather than him bus it home. This is Braeden with best bud Georgie, who came home with us.

Snacks and playing with Lego was the first thing on the agenda

Followed by testing it out the new water gun Cade had got him for his birthday.

About an hour later Cade was home from school and did some watching of the boys for me while I inflated some pool toys.
After some light refreshments for Cade he was re energized from school so it was "game on"

Some crazy play time on a trampoline, with the sprinkler going over it while they had a water gun fight. They were joined by cousin Davis, and Jesse from next door.

The Michels were over to celebrate with us. The menu, very typical Lesina fare per Braedens request. Ribs, bread and salad. We also grilled some tri tip. As always barbecue was delicious.

Then for dessert, chocolate cake with chocolate filling served with choc chip cookie dough ice cream. Braedens favourite.

A sponge bob cake this year. Braeden now does a dance move called the sponge bob hence his renewed interest in the cartoon character.

It's always a little scary walking down the steps to the backyard with your child's cake, not to mention trying to keep the candle lit. Oh the pressure ;)

We let all the kids blow out the candle.

A piƱata and some hot tub time finished off what Braeden called the best birthday ever, but quickly followed that with " but we have to try and one up it for my 9th birthday " :)

Alright, can't finish up this post without mentioning Scott and my half marathon this weekend. We travelled 3 hours down to Eureka on the coast of California. The half marathon we signed up for was The Avenue of the Giants. A run through the redwoods of California. A truly beautiful run. But before the run we checked into our hotel on the Saturday night.

As I laid down on the bed I questioned if I would make it to the half marathon in the morning.

From where I lay, a fireplace, a view out onto the bay and a nice big TV that you could swivel so you could watch it from the big jucuzzi tub that was in the right hand corner. And boy did I enjoy that after the race :)

This was my view from where I lay.
We headed out to find food. Intake the day before a race is very important, and so far I have found a good stone fired oven pizza is what works best. We found a perfect little place and along with the pizza ordered char grilled romaine Caesar salad. It was so good, definitely something we will experiment with doing over the summer.
Again more temptation to forego the race. Such a cute wee place and 2 doors down their sister business of a wine bar. But I resisted and we headed home to get to bed for 9pm.
So it was up at 515. Half a bagel and honey with a cup of coffee and off to the redwoods we went.
We picked up our numbers and race goodie bags. Scott with his now 30lb weight loss is no longer an XL. We put our bags and t shirts back to the car, then headed to the start line. After the national anthem was sung the gun fired and we were off! Scott was gone from my sight in seconds. It was a no headphones race so it was very social. Between the comradery and the outstanding scenery I did not miss my music one bit. About 3 miles in a deer jumped out of now where, skimmed the chest of a male runner a few yards ahead of me, narrowly missed his wife then took off up the hill. Amazing. For sure the closest I have been to a live deer. I felt good in this race, and was at mile 5 when I saw Scott heading back. There weren't that many in front of him. In fact he came in the 138th runner overall:)
Mile 8 I hit the wall. My plan had been to take in some fuel at mile 6 but my stomach was not in agreeance. But then before I knew it I was at 10. Only 3 to go. That's like running from my house to Braedens school and back. That shouldn't be a problem, right? Wrong. Most painful 3 miles I have ever done. There was an uphill, a bridge cross and then we started to sweep round. And there was Scott cheering me on telling me to go strong. The boost I needed as I picked up speed to pass a few runners before crossing the line

It was over. What a fantastic course to run. I made it in 2 hours 9 mins finishing 27 th of 70 females in my age group (35 to 40). But not as impressive as Scott who was 18th out of 50 males in his age group, finishing in 1hr 49.

We are definitely signing up for this race again next year. And we are planning our future runs this year. Thinking a 10k in June in Brookings, close to where Scott's parents live. Then perhaps a half marathon in november at silver falls, Oregon. Grants pass has it's own half and 10k in October so I guess if we are not to caught up in football season that might be another. But despite Kelly's feelings that I might still want to go for a whole marathon, I'm thinking I am not the whole marathon type. I was in a whole world of hurt after the half. Couldn't even drink water. After a few hours I was ready to eat, and my salad with avocado, shrimp, olives, red cabbage and capers washed down with grapefruit juice was the perfect meal. Scott chowed down on eggs Benedict with fried potatoes with no problem at all :)
Boy that was a long blog, wasn't it ;) but its been an exciting week. Might not be anything else for a while now ;) hope alls well with everyone

Love to all

Will I have a wee go at blogging again? Trying to divide my attentions a little better between the blog and Facebook.

We had a perfect Easter weekend. We went to Scott's uncle bobbys property where we enjoyed hanging out in the old house

Some ATV riding went on

A little hiking too.

And our Easter dinner. Excuse the paper plates, but the ham plus ready made cheesy potatoes, salad and Costco cheesecake with no dishes to do made me a very happy mommy.

The kids woke us at 515 Sunday morning to do their egg hunt and see what the Easter bunny had left for them

So I was a very sleepy mommy. And the dogs, weren't too energized either and just wanted to be on my lap the whole time

It's just such a great hang out spot for us.

Hope everyone else had as fun and relaxing an Easter as we did.

Love to all
