Good Christmas eve morning to you all. It's feeling particularly Christmassy here with it being frosty white outside, warm fire inside, and Braeden has discovered "Dr Who at the Proms" on BBC America. He is loving the Daleks. It appears mums love of Dr Who gene has made it through my loathe of Dr who ;) gene.

This will not be a lengthy blog as I have lots of prep to do for Chrismas dinner and my panic feeling inside means I am probably going to hit the shops one more time just to make sure I am not missing anything.

So thought I would post some of my favourite photos.

Our Christmas card photo as it truly reflect us. Our love of being snuggled up in a blanket in the living room.

My baby girl Holly. This all too familiar sight of her trying to get up onto your lap. She thinks she is a lap dog!!

Cade and Braeden at Huntington beach. Cade loved the surf so much I was ready to pack in our lives in Grants Pass and live on a shack on the beach just so he could have limitless access to the surf ;)

Then the kids on our wee mini break at Sunriver in November. Lovely place and so relaxing, that now I wanted to live at Sunriver ;)

And one of my favourite pics of Scott. First day of summer vacation.

Thinking of you all, and wish that you could all be here for Christmas day.

Merry Christmas and big hugs to each and every one of you

Lots of Love

So here is the offending object, the bush branch that lodged itself in Cade's arm that caused the visit to the ER Wednesday. For those of you who don't know, I was on my way to work when the school called and asked that I get there. Cade had had an accident and needed to be taken to the doctors. When I arrived at the school the principal was waiting for me in the parking lot to prepare me for what I was about to see, and to offer support, whether it be physical if I felt faint, or emotional support to come with me to the ER. All the staff looked pale. The wee boy that was playing with Cade looked very pale and was very upset and apologetic. But it wasn't his fault, he and Cade were playing a game of trying to push each other into the bushes, when Cade tripped over a smaller bush and fell into the large bush. He was embarrassed so jumped up, felt something catching, assumed it was is jacket caught he reached over and snapped the branch. As he started to walk to class a teacher noticed the blood and took a closer look. And this is what she found!!

Cade's initial complaints to me we're of tingling in his hand and shooting pain up into his armpit. Inside I was panicked and thought of the potential of him hitting nerve and/or blood vessel. Thankfully the X-ray showed nothing of concern. The doctor numbed the area, approx 6 shots around the wound, then cut the skin and removed the branch. He cleaned it out thoroughly but couldn't suture it as you have to allow the body to push out any remaining foreign objects and then heal from the inside out. A tetanus shot, a prescription for antibiotics and a wound dressing later, we were home approx 4 hours after the accident.
All is well. He is healing well and there are no signs of infection. Just another ER visit for my accident prone child. I guess he may take after is mama ;)
Right gotta go. Go to head to the store, check out if I want to get my produce for Christmas day now or wait until closer to the time.
Have a good week everyone......it's nearly Christmas :) :) :) :)

This is my view this evening. Quiet night in front of the TV. Scott is off to a coaches meeting (basketball season starts after the holidays), and the boys are quietly playing math games at the computer :) seems like a good night to catch up on my blog.

- Posted using BlogPress from my iPad

These photos were taken on our way back from Braedens big game at the college football stadium. This was the view as we came over the pass and could see Grants Pass below. Beautiful, isn't it.

And this is Braeden at his school play, waiting for his cue to take the stage.

Look at what a natural he is with the microphone!

But still got time to look over to mom and dad for a quick picture :)
We went and cut down our Christmas tree Sunday afternoon. I think it is a "Grand Fir". This is not a type of Christmas tree I have ever considered before, but the boys ran right to it and when Scott and I approached we loved how fragrant it was. When we got it home, I am not exaggerating, the smell of Christmas tree filled the house.
It has been bitterly cold here recently. Always freezing or below. Being the big baby of the cold I am, I was not venturing out for my runs. Finally Sunday with the sun at least shining I laced up and hit the roads with Holly, completely bundled up. Ended up having a very enjoyable 6.2 mile run, got into the house all proud of myself, and then caught a look at myself in the mirror.......my lips were blue!!!! I headed out for a quick run tonight albeit short as Scott didn't get home from work til late and then had his coaching meeting, but I think I like these wintery runs :) Just had to go back and make a correction, my auto correct just changed wintery to winery. Now winery run.....that sounds good. I think there's a run further north in Oregon where you run trails around the wineries. Can't remember if it's 10k or a half marathon.
As I am sitting here with the tv on in the background, I am hearing Dallas is making a comeback!!! I used to love Dallas. In fact next September I am hopefully going to a conference in Dallas and high on my agenda is to go visit Southfork :)
So there you have it. Think that's all I have to say for now.

Love to all
