So here I am, so thrilled with how well the teenage babysitter has worked out this summer. In fact so well that when I heard the kids best buddy was visiting from out of town ,once cleared with his family,I agreed to letting him come over to play with my babysitter in charge.
I returned home at 430. "they've just been playing with him all day outside. I haven't had to do much. Just sat out front when they were skateboarding out there to make sure they were fine". "perfect" said I as I paid her a little extra for watching the 3 of them.
As I went out back "don't look" was the cry I heard from the boys as I saw they had one of the chairs in the hot tub". I let the know that had to come out.
"now look what we did over here" they said proudly."we used dads power tools and removed the slide from the swing set and drilled it into the deck so we can have a waterslide"
They were so proud of their work. So proud of their success as I just stood there gobsmacked not knowing whether to laugh or cry!! I think the fact that Cade has drilled his name onto our trex decking makes it even more amazing to me that it is truly furthest from their mind that this may not be ok to do and that it might get them into trouble!!!!!!!!!
I have texted their dad a photo. Not my best timing as I guess his golf game wasn't going too well! Memories........that's for sure. I am reminding myself of how this whole project planning and execution was actually a wonderful development activity. They are boys after all!! But I think I may want to consider military personnel to watch them after this vs a teenage girl!!
Deep breath, a run once Scott gets home then a big glass of wine for me should do the trick. Just wondering what it is going to take for Scot!!!!
Love to all
