So here I am, so thrilled with how well the teenage babysitter has worked out this summer. In fact so well that when I heard the kids best buddy was visiting from out of town ,once cleared with his family,I agreed to letting him come over to play with my babysitter in charge.
I returned home at 430. "they've just been playing with him all day outside. I haven't had to do much. Just sat out front when they were skateboarding out there to make sure they were fine". "perfect" said I as I paid her a little extra for watching the 3 of them.
As I went out back "don't look" was the cry I heard from the boys as I saw they had one of the chairs in the hot tub". I let the know that had to come out.
"now look what we did over here" they said proudly."we used dads power tools and removed the slide from the swing set and drilled it into the deck so we can have a waterslide"

They were so proud of their work. So proud of their success as I just stood there gobsmacked not knowing whether to laugh or cry!! I think the fact that Cade has drilled his name onto our trex decking makes it even more amazing to me that it is truly furthest from their mind that this may not be ok to do and that it might get them into trouble!!!!!!!!!

I have texted their dad a photo. Not my best timing as I guess his golf game wasn't going too well! Memories........that's for sure. I am reminding myself of how this whole project planning and execution was actually a wonderful development activity. They are boys after all!! But I think I may want to consider military personnel to watch them after this vs a teenage girl!!

Deep breath, a run once Scott gets home then a big glass of wine for me should do the trick. Just wondering what it is going to take for Scot!!!!

Happy weekend to everyone.
After spending 4days and 3nights without Cade I am so happy to have him back. Both boys were going to spend tues to Friday over at Grandmas house on the coast. Braeden wasn't too keen to go, but after many talks, and reassurances that if he still missed mom and dad after a night there without us that Scott would head that way Wednesday night to pick him up (as he was off thurs due to working this weekend). So when I left Tuesday morning for work and he was settled on leaving at noon with grandma I had no clue I would receive 3 messages from Braeden at 1130 crying and asking me to come home, he missed me. After Scott went home to try and talk him into going and realized his attempts were futile, he brought him to my work to hang out for the afternoon. About mid afternoon I noticed him looking "worn" and as I gave him a hug I felt he was hot. A fever! Of course he needed to stay home with mama!!
So Scott and I have had a few days at home alone with Braeden. Nice to get that one on one time, but does feel weird to have Cade gone. So I am delighted to have him home again

- this morning after Cade finally got up at 9am, we went to the skate park. Braeden has been wanting to try his skateboard there but we had been unable to do so during the week as his skateboard had gone ahead to Grandmas before we knew there was going to be a change of plans

From there we went to the Saturday morning market. We were not there long before Braeden noticed the presence of balloon animals, so the rest of our time was spent hunting down the balloon man, and waiting in a long line of kiddies. Finally here are the results of our long wait

Oops, I guess Cade didn't hold his up. His was actually a purple duck :) as I am sure you recognize, Braedens is an alien holding a laser gun.

So that's it so far this weekend. I am exhausted from standing in the sun so will sit right here in my chair with my iPad and a cup of tea for the next hour.

Hope alls well with everyone

Happy Birthday to Gary xx 4th of July celebrations start for us at 4pm which will be the start of Garys birthday so I will be raising my glass to him at that time. Hope you have a great day. We wish we could be there to celebrate with you. Maybe you should plan on coming to the USA for one of your birthdays ;)

Here they are heading out on their first hole of their wee tournament Saturday morning.

Can you tell Braedens clubs are a wee bit big for him yet!!

Cade having to get out of the rough.

That's the pro behind him giving him some instruction
