This is my second entry today so make sure you scroll down and read everything below. This is just a quick post with photos I took on my camera as I finally found the battery charger for it. Its been lost since we got back from Scotland and I have searched high and low. But amazingly the other day it turned up in a basket that I had searched in time and time again! How does that happen??

Anyway here are the close ups of his braces. The bar across the room of his mouth is the culprit for his difficulty with swallowing right now. His brain is having to get used to sharing that space with his tongue. Twice a day I put a little key into the hole you see in the bar and crank that down. This is the gradually widen his upper jaw so his top teeth are properly aligned over his bottom teeth for effective biting. Interesting, huh?
Right thats it, got to go and get dinner ready. Salmon, veggies and rice.

Well first of all I would like to say congratulations to the parents on their blood pressure reading.....excellent :-)

But now onto the all important update on cade. Mondays brace fittings and tongue tie cut went well. Braces fist. Cade acted like it was nothing!! Then the tongue tie. A little problem getting the area anestetised led to Cade deciding he was going to deal with that by digging his wee nails deep into my hand. I wanted to yell at him " I paid my dues when I delivered you!!!" but I stayed smiley and supportive, and relieved when they finally got the area numbed up enough. "Do you want to watch?" asked Dr Robinson, well of course yes was the answer. I put the special glasses on so I could watch the laser procedure up close. I have observed orthopedic surgery, I have seen things you wouldnt want to know about, but watching my sons tongue tie be eliminated by a laser, now that made me queezy!

The video footage of him sticking out his tongue is rare. He has not done it since. Some swelling underneath for the first couple of days, and continued tenderness to this day has stopped him from practicing his new party trick ;-) He has also dropped 3 lbs since the procedure. The braces mean crunchy, chewy, sticky food is out of the question. Eating is a lot slower. I'm thinking of asking for some for me just so I can lose a few pounds :-)

As for Braeden, nothing new there. He and I went to watch the movie Gnomeo and Juliette today. Cute, but I think I watched Braeden more than the actual movie. I think my wee Braeden may actually be a wee romantic at heart. And without Cade there we had soda, popcorn and sour gunmmies, all forbidden foods for Cade.

So thats it. We have had some snowfall, nothing stayed though, and now bitterly cold temps. I am having a hard time even getting out to walk the dog. With my thyroid condition, once I get cold I have a lot of difficulty getting warm again, so basically I am a big baby who right now is happiest dressed in 3 layers and getting under the bedcovers :-) Thank goodness for Scott who happily throws a sweatshirt on over his shorts and t shirt and takes Holly off to the dog park to play.

Now, thats all folks! Hope alls well with everyone.

Love to all

Sorry I havent blogged in so long. I have sat down regularly with the intention of writing something, but have come up with nothing so walked away.
So today a picture of a cake(unfortunately cant get it to flip the right way) as my writing inspiration. This is a red velvet cake. I'm just wondering if those of you in the UK and Oz have had red velvet cake before? I have never, until today when Laramie gave me some coupons for my trip to costco and one was for $2 off this cake. So I grabbed a starbucks latte on the way home, and once home had coffee and cake for my lunch. Oh heavenly divine!! deeeelicious!! And I am not the only one that thought so. Braeden, who never clears his plate of anything, polished off a slice, licked the crumbs of the plate, asked for another slice and did the same again. And Yes it was just the Lesina 4 that have eaten almost half this enormous cake!!
I'm hoping the boys will polish off the rest to take temptation out my way. I am particularly in favour of Cade eating as much as he likes to build his resources as I am not sure if he will be eating much for a while after tomorrow. At 930 tomorrow the 2 hour plus process starts to cut his tongue tie and fit his braces. Will post photos as soon as its all done....if he lets me. He is actually quite excited about it, so I in turn keep trying to prepare him for what its going to be like. Have gotten the advice of my baby sister who after having her tongue tie cut cried as her tongue felt like it was flopping around her mouth after the procedure :-(
So thats it. We have had a wee bit of snow, just a sprinkling. Alls well here, everybody healthy and happy. So thats all she wrote.
Til next time dear friends and family
