The Lesina's are home. We made it home a week ago but I've been sick all week. On the plane home I knew Cade was sick but I thought I just couldn't get warm on the flight. The next morning when I woke up in my own bed (and we all know how lovely it is to get back to your own bed) Scott remarked how hot I was. Not one for normally commenting on my beauty ;-) I realised he meant feverish. I was 103.5 degrees. And so there I was for the next 2 days, constant fevers and just sleeping all the time. Sunday I got up as cade had his play off game. Feeling a little better I bundled myself off and went to watch. The game was so exciting, our boys played awesome, and when one of our players stripped the ball from the other team and ran it in for a touchdown for us I jumped up to cheer, and was hit with sudden left sided chest pain. I sat down, rested and it subsided. I stayed to watch our boys win 29 to 0 :-)

So I rested when i got home, and didnt feel too terrible, but later that evening the chest pain returned and so did the fevers. Thought I may just be doing too much so I took off for bed beside my now feverish Cade. I woke up early i the morning following the third night of ferocious night sweats and now further increase in chest pain and for some reason the phrase "rheumatic fever" was in my head. Cade and I headed to the Doctors for it opening and we were examined

The doctor took a swab of our throats, said cade had an inflamed throat and I had bronchitis and that he was sending samples off to lab, but here was a 10 day dose of penicillin to get started with. Once labs returned we learned the culprit was the sreptococci bacteria and we absolutely must finish the penicillin and throw out our toothbrushes and get new.

So what is rheumatic fever? that is a more serious illness caused by the strep bacteria and if left untreated an weaken the heart. Was I getting little messages from someone/somewhere? We will never know, but if I hadnt woken up with that strange phrase in my head I would not have gone to the doctors that day. It was just as well I did as the chest pain worsened significantly on the monday, and with each dose of the penicillin I took I got progressively better.

I love that penicillin was invented. What a wonder drug. I am back to work, energy levels improving and hope to feel up to a run this weekend.

And speaking of this weekend, 9 am saturday Cades team plays in the final. If we win we get to go play at Autzen (college football stadium) again :-) Wish us luck xxxxx

Right I'm off. Got to retrieve my baked macaroni cheese. After not really eating for 5 days, I now cant stop :-)

Love to all

Miss all of you in Scotland and had such a wonderful time. Thank you all for a great wedding
